Instructions
Eligibility
At the time of applications, you must:
- be a citizen or permanent resident of the United States or its possessions.
- be enrolled and currently attending classes through the current academic year (through spring 2025).
- be at least 18 years old by the start of the program (June 2025).
- be at least a rising junior by the start of the program (June 2025). (A “rising junior” is a student who has fully completed the freshman and sophomore year of college).
- are currently an Earth science/geology/geoscience major.
Students from minority-serving institutions or who identify as one of the following: BIPOC (Black, Indigenous and people of color), Latinx, LGBTQ+, and first-generation college students will be prioritized in the selection process.
No prior field, lab, or computer experience is required!
However, there will be 3-4 days in the field (~8 hours per day). Students must be able to walk on uneven ground for ~1km carrying their backpack.
Scheduling Conflict with Quarter System
C2C runs from June 7 to June 28, where students are expected to arrive in Eugene, OR on June 7 and depart June 28. This schedule may conflict with the quarter schedule.
We encourage quarter students to apply! The C2C team will provide accommodations if the student needs to take their final during the first week of C2C. We can also offer a letter of support to your professors for participating in this program.
